REFLECTION

Experience

For me, this semester was yet another form of hell. Typography just kept growing more and more difficult, and without enough time to fully explore it, I was unable to come up with any creative ideas. I've never had this kind of education before, and I just barely made it to the end. Although all of this new material was enjoyable, it was simply too much for me to manage, therefore I don't regret the time I spent on it. However, I learnt to multitask and complete a lot of work as a result of this effort and taking six modules at once. I now believe I can better manage my time and perform even better in the upcoming semester.

Observation

I've come to realise that creating typefaces and letters is not really my thing. I don't appear to be having any excitement at all. However, I am conscious of the importance of type in design and hold it in the greatest respect. Without education in typography, digital information wouldn't be as aesthetically pleasing as it is now. I'm interested in learning more about this since I want to discover and learn more about architectural typeforms and typography.

Findings

The flaws and inconsistency in my design made designing my own typeface physically and mentally challenging. Though it took an insanely long time to complete, I'm only just about satisfied with the end result, and I think it won't be as difficult the next time. Making the Telegram sticker was fun for me, and it taught me how to create an entire sticker all by myself. Pretty okay/good experience overall
