TASK 3B - type design and communication
Task 3B / Type Design And Communication
For Task 3B, we must typographically convey a social message, greeting, or
anything similar that is pertinent to the Taylor University campus community
or society at large. Minor graphical components are permitted; the only
colors we can use are red, white, and black. Photoshop or Illustrator are
acceptable to use. I started by making sketches and doing visual
research.
We were given a list of greetings to choose from. I chose to use the
Japanese snow festival in Hokkaido named 'Yuki matsuri'
I opted to make stickers connected to snow because it's a snow
festival.

This was not looking good so I chose to spend more time building fun shapes and typefaces

But on the day of the class, the lecturer didn't like it as much so I
decided to use a backup sketch that I did

So I decided to make some changes to it
Then I added the Taylor's logo as snow particles falling down

The next step is to use the telegram bot to change this to a sticker
1. Find the @stickerator_bot & follow their instructions
2. Download the generated png from that bot
3. Find the @Stickers bot & follow their steps
4. Done!

When I was happy with the result, I uploaded it to Telegram and sent it to my friend
After feedback, the lecturer told me to change the colour to red

Feedback
Week 11
Because you haven't done much, please complete the necessary sketches by
next week.
Week 12
Fig.1 - The design depends on graphical aspects, it will not be acceptable
for this project.
Fig.2 - Although the design is appealing, you should polish the type face
and eliminate the blank places.
Experience
This wasn't as difficult or tiresome as the prior ones. Even so, it
took a while to complete. It had been a pleasant encounter and a good
experience.
Observation
The most important element of the task was ensuring it has the qualities of
the festivals we celebrate. Finally, I thought out a nice way to get around
that by adding snow. I think the sticker I made is quite good, and it goes
well with the festival. I'm very satisfied with the end product.

Findings
For me, the Yuki matsuri festival is quite interesting, and it reminds me
of something really cool. Unlike the prior projects, I was quite interested in making this, thus I put some time into it.
This week, we didn't do much more reading because this task was dependent
on our understanding of previous typographic assignments.
