Empathy walk (group 8)
Week 2
With the project selected, our first task was to select each others groups and I chose to be in group 8. my other group members were jessica, reenah, hisham, azeira and maruisheng
Later on we got the project brief
Week 3: Researching and Brainstorming in Miro
Week 3 was dedicated to deep research and brainstorming sessions. We used Miro, an online collaborative whiteboard tool, to map out our ideas and explore different concepts for the AR app. This was a crucial step in understanding the potential features and functionalities of the app.

Week 4: Client Meeting
The initial meeting with the client was a important milestone. We presented our preliminary research and discussed their expectations and requirements. This meeting gave us a clearer understanding of the client’s vision and goals, aligning our ideas with their needs. It was an invaluable opportunity to ensure our project direction was on the right track.
Week 5: Creating User Personas
With the data from our interviews and surveys, we created detailed user personas. These personas helped us humanize our target audience and keep their needs at the forefront of our design process. We also drafted an empathy map, highlighting key pain points and needs. These tools were essential for driving our user-centered design approach.
Week 6: Conceptualizing Features
We began conceptualizing the app features, focusing on AR navigation, information hotspots, and an interactive mascot. Specific tasks were assigned to each team member to develop these concepts further. This phase was exciting as we started translating our research insights into tangible design ideas.
Week 7: Low-Fidelity Wireframes
We created low-fidelity wireframes for the app, focusing on key features and user flows. I reviewed the wireframes and provided feedback to ensure consistency and usability. Wireframing allowed us to visualize the app’s structure and identify potential usability issues early in the design process.
Week 8: User Testing
Conducting a preliminary user testing session with the wireframes provided valuable feedback on the app’s usability and design. We gathered insights on how real users interacted with our designs and identified areas for improvement. This phase was crucial for ensuring our design was user-centered and effective.
Week 9: High-Fidelity Wireframes (basic)
We incorporated the feedback from user testing into high-fidelity wireframes. I focused on refining specific sections of the app. These detailed wireframes brought our design closer to the final product, adding more polish and detail.
Week 10: Design Proposal Presentation
We presented our high-fidelity wireframes to the client, showcasing our design decisions and features. This presentation was an important milestone, allowing us to get client feedback and ensure our design aligned with their vision and needs. It was a valuable opportunity to refine our work based on their input.

Week 11: Interactive Prototyping
We continued developing the interactive prototype, focusing on AR features and the user interface. Prototyping allowed us to bring our designs to life and test the app’s functionality. This phase was essential for ensuring our app was practical and user-friendly.
Week 12: TrueXR Lab Visit
Visiting the TrueXR Lab in Malaysia provided us with deeper insights into advanced AR technologies and their applications. This visit was enlightening, helping us understand how to leverage these technologies for our project. It reinforced the importance of using cutting-edge tools to enhance our AR app.
Week 13: final Prototyping & user testing
Our primary focus was on preparing our presentation materials, including slides, the empathy map, user personas, and the interactive prototype. However, the key activity was conducting user testing with both current students and prospective students outside Taylor’s University. This testing provided valuable feedback, helping us refine our app based on real user experiences and expectations.
Week 14: Final Preparations
In Week 14, we reached the final stage of our project. We were busy wrapping up everything we had worked on. We focused on finalizing the Adobe Aero navigation, which meant making sure the app was easy to use. We also perfected the duck animation, which was a fun part of the app to help guide users.
We spent a lot of time finishing up the wireframes and user flow, making sure everything worked smoothly. We made sure the interaction map design was clear and matched our vision for the app.
We also polished our presentation materials. We carefully put together each slide to show not just what our app does but also the effort and creativity behind it.
As we finished everything, we felt a great sense of achievement. We looked back on the challenges we overcame and felt proud of how our ideas had come together. This last week was about completing our work and celebrating the teamwork and effort that made it all possible.
