Flip - 1 (Group)Types of infographic

Re-designing an infographic

Pick one free online infographic tool and re-design one poorly constructed infographic poster through your own experimentation with the selected tool

Chosen Infographic

Issues
Too many elements
It could have better colours

The infographic I used was a timeline infographic that was available in canva I redesigned it into a more modern style design and added a bit more simple and better vector designs.

Rating of the online tool

The difficulty, Intuitiveness 2/5
Figma is pretty simple and straightforward to use, I had no issues using it in the first place every tool is easily understandable. Of course, photoshop and illustrator have more options but designing in Figma is quick and easy to use

Usefulness 3.5/5
Figma is pretty easy and all but to get any vector graphics, I needed to install plugins which were not that hard to do. It had a lot of resources to offer I haven't explored everything yet but pretty fun to use so far

Design templates, choices 3.5/5
To find the templates I had to use other plugins or resources but this one I designed it by myself and used some of the vectors from the tools I found online. There are various font choices and flexibility to kern them and add features so It was a good experience

Week 1 - exercise 1: Quantify and visualize data
Quantify (count) your chosen items and arrange the objects into a presentable layout or chart. Take a picture and submit

I have to find materials like coins or different coloured buttons to finish this exercise
Then I scourged my room to find ABSOLUTELY NOTHING since I'm a foreign student and don't have much stuff at home

Then I had an idea
I went downstairs and bought some origami papers

After that, I started creating blocks out of these papers

Didn't expect this but it took 20 mins to make 1 single cube

Finally made this much cubes with the help of a friend

Sorting them out
I gathered all I made and started sorting them by colours

Sorted picture: orange, yellow, pink, blue and red at the bottom

1st try

I stacked them as a timeline graph with height and sides representing different colours on each side

2nd try

Stacked them in a different and harder way to change the timeline to a diagonally increasing graph

Week 2 - Exercise 2: L.A.T.C.H

Organize a group of information into a visual poster that combined and utilizes the LATCH principles (min. 4)

Size resolution: 1240 × 1750 pixels or 2048 × 2048 pixels

Use a digital photo editing / illustration software available to assemble the pokemons into a LATCH infographic poster. You can re-use back the images of the monsters, but do create the rest of your own visuals to complete the poster.

Anteater

I decided to create a poster on anteaters. I'm not sure why I chose to create an infographic about a creature that only consumes ants, perhaps because they seem funny, stupid, and cute all at once.

See?

I checked on google if somebody made a latch infographic about ants before and turns out there's none, So I though why not create one by myself

I started researching about anteaters and chose to make a detailed infographic about GIANT ANTEATERS out of the 4 anteater species.

I wanted to showcase it's details such as
Weight
length
habitat
food
and other details as much as possible

Final result
